Managing our credit risks has never been so important. As part of our Portfolio Management team, you will help us build a stable future.

Portfolio Management is responsible for managing individual credit exposures within the GBM portfolio.  Acting as an independent credit steward, you will provide full service management of individual counterparty risks and seek to maximise opportunities through cross-sales and refinancing. You will also look at individual client strategies, manage credit deterioration and deal with banking activities in countries across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Within Portfolio Management, there are three dedicated teams. The Asset Development Unit provides credit deterioration ‘early warning’ support and works with clients to manage business cycles. Treasury Structured Solutions optimises GBM’s balance sheet via the origination, structuring, execution and subsequent management of structured transitions. And finally, Global Portfolio Distribution is responsible for the management and coordination of asset sales across portfolio regions and products.

You can expect to encounter a wide range of challenges from active involvement in enterprise valuations through to restructurings and the assessment of an individual company’s credit risk. These tasks will require you to build strong relationships with management, advisors and other lenders.

What we look for

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have fastidious attention to detail and a highly methodical approach. Possessing a good knowledge of financial products would also stand you in good stead. Given that you’ll be engaging with so many stakeholders, strong communication and negotiation skills are also essential.
