At a glance
Our business simply wouldn’t function without Operations. Working closely with the front office, the team here processes 250,000 trades every day and manages cash assets worth £750 billion.
Join them and you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our transactions. You’ll ensure that deals struck in the front-office develop exactly as they should. This is no mere support role however. By managing the risk of fraud, you will act as a guardian of the business. You’ll also have an impact on our profitability too – by streamlining our processes and making them more efficient.
As a graduate on this programme, you will have placements with two of our specialist teams in the first year. This could see you joining Middle Office, Confirmations, Settlements, Client Services, Change Management, Client Valuations, Collateral or Relationship Management. By equipping you with a detailed understanding of how our different financial products, systems and processes work, these placements will give you the platform to progress and acquire ever greater responsibilities.
The long-term aim of this programme is to create our future leaders: the strategic thinkers who will help us shape the wider business. With trade margins shrinking, the influence of Operations is only set to grow. We need people who can help us reengineer our processes and maintain our competitive advantage.
What we look for
We look for dynamic graduates who can think strategically, plan ahead and inspire others. A good general understanding of finance, scrupulous attention to detail and excellent analytical skills are essential too. The role requires you to liaise regularly with both internal and external clients, so you’ll also need to be a confident communicator.
